Since its inception, plastic has been an inseparable component of our daily lives. It has been a source of both industrial innovation and personal convenience. From the alarm clock we turn off in the morning; to the toothbrush we use to clean our teeth; to the jug of milk in the refrigerator; to the chair we sit in; to the keyboard we type on; to the cell phone we use to communicate; to the straws we use to drink – plastic is truly universal.

Many of the benefits of our current standard of living can be attributed to the ubiquitous use of plastics. Nearly every conceivable industry and product – from telecommunications to auto manufacturing, or construction to clothing design – relies on the use of plastic to solve many functional and design challenges. This has provided immeasurable benefit to our daily lives.
